Characterized by clean cuts, the clay is cut by the lathe operator himself. Minimal design inspired by the nippon oriental taste, the place where the Raku technique was born.
Strictly related to the Zen culture, Raku technique was born in XVI century as the art of creating bowls used during the japanese tea ceremony.
The Raku technique enhance the beauty and the harmony of simple objects. The singular production process give birth to those objects characterized by crackings and colors, obtaining unique pieces.
The Raku collection by Studionudo consists in three different techniques: naked, smoked and naked with marble effect. The smoked piece, after the first firing, undergoes to a second one at high temperature. It is then removed and placed in a container filled with paper, sawdust, leaves, and then covered to create a complete absence of oxygen. The result will be a velvet black color. Its uniqueness lies in being a simple piece without glazes or finishes, obtained only through the work of fire.
